Miami-based Mindy Solomon Gallery presents a showcase called Diasporic Voices: Redefining Our Cultural Perspectives through Design. Featuring works by Basil Kincaid, Linda Lopez, Donté K. Hayes and Lee Kang Ho, the exhibition considers how art can be a channel for cultural narratives and ancestral energy. While Hayes, Lopez and Ho bring ceramic and stoneware pieces, Kincaid’s work is primarily in textile. The artists employ artistic techniques that are traditional to their place of origin, reimagining them in a modern, more global context.
